High Tech Air Monitoring in South and Southwest Philadelphia

The Community/Labor Refinery Tracking Committee has activated state-of-the-art air monitoring technology to monitor Sunoco Refinery's and other polluters' air pollution in Philadelphia. This equipment is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania and it belongs to the South and Southwest Philadelphia communities.

The C/LRTC purchased the equipment with funds from a settlement with Sunoco Refinery for violations of the Clean Air Act. The CEREX air monitoring equipment takes real-time air samples using laser technology, enabling community members to protect themselves by taking air samples and having immediate results, which will be posted online for the public to see.

Hold Polluters Accountable, Have Your Air Tested

If you live in the Philadelphia area and have concerns about polluted air please contact Sonnet Gabbard at Clean Water Action. The CLRTC and Clean Water Action can come out and monitor your air. the Community/Labor Refinery Tracking Committee and Clean Water Action also have grassroots air monitoring equipment that community members can keep in their homes and use to monitor their local polluters.
